It's time to check Your Watchlist for end-of-April expiring Prime titles.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow Amazon Prime will begin to post its 28-day advance notices
of titles Leaving Prime at the end of April.
On Sunday April 2, you will find the new Orange Expiration Date Notices
for expiring Prime titles with a Last Day to Watch of April 29.
April 2 + 28 days = April 30 which is the day the title Leaves Prime,
so the Last Day to Watch is the day before on April 29.
On Monday April 3, you will find the new Orange Expiration Date Notices
for expiring Prime titles with a Last Day to Watch of April 30.
April 3 + 28 days = 31 or May 1 which is the day the title Leaves Prime,
so the Last Day to Watch is the day before on April 30.
Logically, these Apr 30 Orange Notices should say "Leaving Prime on May 1, 2017." Unfortunately, confusing matters, Amazon Prime Video is in the habit of posting these new Orange Expiration Date Notices as also saying "Leaving Prime on April 30, 2017."
The problem then becomes how do you tell the Apr 29 notices apart from the Apr 30 notices if they both say the SAME identical Leaving Prime Date?
ReplyDeleteThe two-step procedure is to check Your Watchlist for the Apr 29 expiring titles first on Apr 2 and move them all to the top of page 1 of Your Watchlist. Then on Apr 3 when you check Your Watchlist again, any new Orange Expiration Date Notices that you find throughout the rest of Your Watchlist which say "Leaving Prime on April 30, 2017" will be the new Apr 30 Last Day to Watch expiring titles.
This method allows you to determine with certainty when the Last Day to Watch an expiring Prime title will be, regardless of whatever confusing Leaving Prime date you may find stated in the Orange Expiration Date Notice.
The only requirement is that you MUST BEGIN the procedure on Sunday April 2. Then you will know for certain that the new Orange Notices which appear in Your Watchlist on Monday April 3 are in fact those with a Last Day to Watch of April 30.
Then continue on Tuesday April 4 and you will find the new Orange Notices
ReplyDeletefor expiring Prime titles with a Last Day to Watch of May 1.
April 4 + 28 days = 32 or May 2 which is the day the title Leaves Prime,
so the Last Day to Watch is the day before on May 1.
Unfortunately, Amazon Prime will confuse matters again by displaying both the "Leaving Prime on May 1, 2017" and "Leaving Prime on May 2, 2017" Orange Notices for the May 1 Last Day to Watch titles. So, checking Your Watchlist for a third day on Tuesday April 4 will sort out this mess.
Please read my Comments on the Resources webpage for the full explanation of the two-step procedure and how you may also apply it to the Prime Video homepage and the "Customers Who Watched This Item Also Watched" Listings on movie webpages.

That is weird about Florence Foster Jenkins streaming for less than a month. Amazon seems to be doing a lot of strange things lately. I add a lot of stuff to my watchlist from instantwatcher.com and two weeks later a lot of these movies disappear without notice. Oh well.
