ReplyDeleteIt looks like whoever runs Instantwatcher has abandoned it. It hasn't been updated with any new content since June 22. It's a shame because I really relied on it for tons of titles that are never included in Amazon press releases.
Does anyone know of an alternative site that shows new Amazon Prime content as thoroughly as Instantwatcher did?
I knew Instantwatcher had discontinued its Netflix listings awhile back, but I had used it to update my Amazon titles last Saturday, 6/27, and I THOUGHT those listings were still up-to-date. But I just tried to log onto the site and am being blocked by an "Unsafe" warning. Hmmm. Don't know of any other sites for Amazon Prime, unfortunately.

I mostly check the blog on my phone, which isn't nearly as user friendly at finding pages as the desktop version. I, too, was wondering what had happened to instantwatcher because I check it for new titles as well. I'm more annoyed that there's an argument over where this discussion belongs than the discussion itself, because the discussion is actually helpful.

DeleteWill - Ignore the security warning. Click through it to the site. The warning simply means you shouldn't type in any personal information while you're using Instantwatcher. As long as you're just browsing there's nothing to worry about.
DeleteAfter you click through the warning, go to "Amazon" and then "New Prime" and you'll see that as of July 2 there is new content posted for the first time since June 22.
Thanks, I didn't see a way to click through but just figured out I had to hit "Advanced," and am very happy to see it working. Good Lord there are a lot of new titles under July 2.

Lean on Pete will be on Showtime Anytime after it leaves Prime in case that makes anyone's decision on what to watch easier. It joins a24 films that recently left Prime like Backstabbing for Beginners, The Last Movie Star, and The Vanishing of Sydney Hall. I noticed Waves, which I've been waiting to be dropped on Prime, is actually going to be on Showtime Anytime later this month so I guess a24's contract with Amazon has run its course.

DeleteIf you look under the Prime Video Channels row on the Prime Video Home page, or on the Channels page, you will find two special subscription offers for 99-cents/month for two months of STARZ or Showtime. After two months the regular subscription price applies.
ReplyDeleteCreating some confusion, the STARZ and Showtime Channel posters say the offers end July 6, while the Channel webpages say the offers end July 7. But the Sign Up subscription webpage says "Limited time offer through July 7." So I think that means you should be able to sign up even on Tuesday, July 7.
